Rev. Thomas O. Staten 
First Lady Sister Beverly  R. Staten
Reverend Thomas O. Staten, was born June 23, 1951 in Hendersonville, TN.  He is the oldest son of Andrew L. Boone and Emma Lee Staten.  Rev. Staten attended public schools in Sumner County.  He united with the Mount Olivet Baptist church under the leadership of Rev. Amos Jones at the age of 16.  After finishing High School, he joined the US Military;.  While serving in the Army he completed two tours of duty in Vietnam.  He received a Bronze Star medal  for  meritorious service and was honorably discharged in 1972.
    Rev. Staten is happily married to Beverly Rice Staten and they are the proud parents of two children, Juan Lamont and Tamika Nicole, and one granddaughter. Amaryel Mae.  
    He announced his call to the ministry on the 2nd Sunday in May 2004, under the leadership of Rev George T.  Brooks, Jr.  He preached his initial sermon on the 4th Sunday in June 2004.  Rev Staten is a graduate of Volunteer State Community College, Gallatin TN with an Associate degree, Trevecca University, Nashville, TN with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and also a graduate of American Baptist College, Nashville, TN with a Bachelor of Theology Degree.  He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree at Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Shawnee KS.
      He is actively involved in both the religious and secular community.  He is currently employed by  the Veterans  Administration Department in property Management, Nashville, TN.
    In November 2009, God placed Rev. Staten as the servant shepherd of the Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Castalian Springs,  TN.  He is humble and yet proud to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to God's Holy Scriptures.  With God's divine guidance, his pastoral goal is to give God the best of his service in teaching, nurturing, preaching and pastoring God's children God's way.  Rev Staten's belief is "if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can accomplish anythng with God   
Sis. Beverly R. Staten , the first born of the late Jacob Rice Jr., and Louise Harper Rice reared by grandparents the late Denzimore and Emma Rickman Harper  A lifelong resident of Sumner County, TN.  Graduated from Trousdale County High School: a charter graduate of Volunteer State Community College, 1973 with an AS degree, A BS degree from Trevecca College, Nashville 2001, and  Paralegal certificate from Kennesaw College GA in 2004.  Sister Beverly Staten is the wife of Rev. Thomas Staten. The mother of Juan and Tamika and grandmother of one granddaughter, Amaryel Offit.  Beverly retired from GMAC, a part o GM in 2005. Sister Staten is very active in community affairs.  She is serving as the Worthy Matron of Ethel B. Beck, Order of the Eastern Stars, Gallatin, TN. She is President of the Sumner County NAACP and voted Sumner County "Most Influential 2013" . .  She serves on the Election Commissioner of Sumner County also Servant-President of the "Jewels for Jesus" Women's Ministry at her church, Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Castalian Springs, TN. Foremost , she is  a Christian striving to live a pleasing life for the Lord daily.  To God be the Glory!
